CQuence’s second annual Summit brought together leaders from across our portfolio for a day of learning, networking and sharing best practices. Attendees included leaders from Kada Health, DocPanel, Carecubes, Intercept Telehealth, Mikroscan and WasteMedX.

“We know entrepreneurship can be a lonely journey,” said Kyle Salem, PhD, CEO of CQuence Health. “Peer learning is one of the most influential growth opportunities. Summit was created to offer space for founders and CEOs to learn from other entrepreneurs who are walking a similar path. Finding that kind of connection and candor is rare in the startup and healthcare worlds.”

The event also connects leaders with insights from industry experts and thought leaders. This year’s lineup featured Vincent Chapman, better known as “The Dancing Umpire”; Dr. Thom Mayer, Medical Director for the NFL Players Association; Sarah Wirth, President of Ecsell Institute; and Jonathan Nielson, a certified EOS implementor. We also welcomed a panel of healthcare executives and influencers who helped demystify the decision-making process in the complex landscape of healthcare product and technology sales.

Chapman, “The Dancing Umpire” from the Savannah Bananas, delivered Summit’s opening remarks. His high-energy, engaging presentation focused on the power of culture. Drawing from his personal journey and the unique fan-first philosophy of the Savannah Bananas, he shared compelling lessons on leadership, employee engagement and an important reminder that a little laughter can go a long way.

“The world we live in is a dark place. And if we can be a bright light for somebody—change one person's life—hopefully they'll change another person's life.” - Vincent Chapman, Umpire for the Savannah Bananas

Attendees also gained insights from one of healthcare’s most compelling voices in crisis leadership, innovation and team culture. Dr. Thom Mayer, an emergency physician, entrepreneur, author and medical director for the NFL Players Association, delivered a session that challenged, inspired and redefined what it means to lead through uncertainty.

Dr. Mayer’s premise is simple but profound: “Leadership is worthless, but leading is priceless.” Through powerful storytelling, Mayer made the case that leadership isn’t about titles or professional accolades; it’s about consistent, intentional action and making others feel valued.

“The boss is someone who is quite convinced that he's the most important person in the room. The leader is someone who knows that her job is to make everyone else in the room feel that they're the most important person in the room.” - Dr. Thom Mayer, Medical Director, NFL Players Association

Sarah Wirth, who has spent more than a decade researching successful leaders, explored how accountability drives trust, reduces stress and boosts performance when modeled from the top. She emphasized the importance of clear expectations, strong communication and consistent follow-through. The session empowered leaders to lead with both compassion and high standards to build a culture where accountability is seen not as control, but as support.

“If you're going to drive a culture of accountability, you've got to be willing to deal with a lack of it.” - Sarah Wirth, President, Ecsell Institute

Jonathan Nielson, expert EOS Implementer, delivered an inspirational session on how leaders can unlock 10x growth through mindset, mastery and a business system. He challenged attendees to shift from a “default future” anchored in limitations to a “created future” driven by possibility. His message: sustainable growth starts with visionary leadership, not more effort.

“As you think about your companies, if you love it enough to fight for it, people will join you in the game.” –Jonathan Nielson, EOS Implementor & Founder, Corner Four Consulting LLC

Summit 2025 was a powerful reminder that leadership is a journey of continuous learning and growth. By coming together to share insights, experiences and challenges, our portfolio leaders are not only strengthening their companies, they’re building a foundation for greater impact. Every lesson learned and connection made helps us move closer to our shared goal: improving healthcare access and outcomes.
