Haywood takes over the position from Steve Chambers, who has moved into a strategic financial role as Treasurer & Executive Vice President of CQ.

Omaha, Neb. (January 19, 2024) CQuence Health has announced a key change that will enable it to continue to strategically serve its holdings and portfolio of investments.

Mike Haywood, formerly CQ’s Vice President of Finance and Accounting, has been promoted to the role of Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for CQ and Cassling, the company’s flagship holding.

“Mike has earned the respect and trust of the entire executive team,” said Steve Chambers, the company’s previous CFO, who will now step into the role of Treasure and Executive Vice President of CQ. “He will lead us to continually improve the financial operations of all aspects of the companies as we continue to our 2030 goals. This new title properly reflects his leadership role in the organization.”

Haywood graduated from the University of Nebraska – Omaha in 2002 with a Bachelor's degree in Finance and completed his MBA at the University of Bellevue in 2015 in Accounting & Finance. Before joining Cassling, he worked at ConAgra Foods and Kiewit in various finance and accounting roles.

He is active in the community and serves as Treasurer & Board Member on Millard's Teammates Mentoring program.  He is also active with his two boys' sports clubs throughout the Elkhorn community.

“I’m honored to continue working alongside such a talented group of individuals to ultimately make a difference in the lives of patients,” said Haywood. “I look forward to meeting the needs of our portfolio partners and setting them up for long-term success. That includes our current holdings as well as the many entrepreneurs that will become our partners in the future.”

This transition comes as CQuence has spearheaded a series of leadership changes designed to reflect its ambitious goals and continued investments into companies that are innovating in healthcare. The company also recently announced the promotion of Kyle Salem to President and CEO, and it brought on Chad Brough as its Vice President of Growth.

Moving into a role as CQ’s Treasurer & Executive Vice President, former CFO Steve Chambers will now oversee capital structure, strategic and long-range financial planning. Together, he and Haywood have decades of shared experience with the company and will be instrumental in helping CQ shape the future of healthcare.

“Steve has played a critical role in the growth and success of our companies over the last 30 years,” said Mike Cassling, Executive Chairman of CQuence Health. “The good news is that he will continue to guide our financial efforts — working closely with Mike to mentor and support his transition. This provides a continuity of financial leadership that positions us to capitalize on the many opportunities we have in front of us as we work to bring our vision to life.”
