Omaha, Neb. (July 30, 2018) – CQuence Health Group, a parent company to a growing portfolio of healthcare organizations, has invested in DocPanel, the largest online community of subspecialty radiologists.

“Healthcare is the lifeblood of our communities, and to strengthen community healthcare means making it better for patients and families,” said Mike Cassling, CEO of CQuence Health Group.

“The idea that hospitals, imaging centers and patients can choose to use online subspecialty radiologists for primary interpretation, second opinions and educational consults—especially when it can be difficult to find local access to a specialty with very specific needs—was very attractive to CQuence.

“Being based in the Midwest, we work with many rural healthcare providers whose priority is to deliver high quality, cost-effective care,” said Cassling. “It’s important we help them be as strong as possible.”

Nirish Mathias, founder and CEO of DocPanel, said meeting the rising needs of the aging population is a top concern for healthcare providers across the United States.

“Exploring innovative revenue streams and reducing expenses play a key role in their ability to meet these needs,” Mathias said, “especially for rural hospitals and small- to mid-sized imaging centers.”

DocPanel is the result of Mathias’ personal mission to create better healthcare options for those who need them.

“Our goal is to improve access to expert radiologists in subspecialty niches for patients and imaging providers alike,” he said.

DocPanel is facilitating a growing number of complex clinical cases, diagnosed locally, that otherwise would have been referred out, often requiring patients to travel.

For example, Washington Heights Imaging, an imaging center with two locations in New York serving a predominantly Medicaid population, has been able expand its clinical service offerings and keep patients close to home.

“DocPanel provides a deep panel of specialists—from chest, abdominal, MSK and neuro—to read complex cases, ultimately providing our patients the ability to receive care in their own community,” said Daniel Beyda, M.D., president of Washington Heights.
