The benefit allows for ten weeks of paid time off for employees to spend with their newborn, newly adopted or newly placed child.

Omaha, Neb. (December 12, 2018) –One of Modern Healthcare’s Best Places to Work in 2018 has unveiled an exciting new employee benefit.

CQuence Health Group has announced that its team members will become eligible for Paid Parental Leave starting January 1. The benefit, which encompasses ten weeks of paid time off for both mothers and fathers, is applicable for employees of CQuence Health Group as well as Cassling and Ensocare, the two healthcare companies under its umbrella.

“This has always been a family company,” said Mike Cassling, chairman and CEO of CQuence Health Group and CEO of Cassling. “This benefit emphasizes our commitment to family in a way that I think my father, who founded Cassling 34 years ago, would be proud of. By providing paid leave to any member of our team who has been blessed with a child, we’re doing our part to help maintain a healthy work-life balance. Plus, we know that added financial stability will give our people peace of mind during this most important transition period as a parent.”

The benefit will be given to all full- and part-time employees of CQuence Health Group, Cassling and Ensocare who have been with the companies for 12 or more consecutive months. The paid parental leave will be applicable for any person in one of the following situations:

  • Has given birth
  • Has a spouse or partner who has given birth
  • Has adopted a child
  • Has been placed with a foster child

“We recognize that it’s a competitive landscape for attracting new and keeping existing talent,” said Bruce Stec, vice president of human resources at CQuence Health Group. “It’s true that offering paid parental leave will help us from a recruitment standpoint, but it’s also the right thing to do. We believe employees who have committed to raising a child should have adequate time to focus on their growing family. And given the many shapes that families can take in the modern world, we felt it was only fair to apply this benefit to mothers, fathers and anyone who has gone the route of adoption or fostering.”

With this announcement, paid parental leave joins an ever-growing list of exciting benefits offered by CQuence Health Group and its family of companies. These include full health, dental and vision insurance, life insurance, a 401(k) matching program, Paid Time Off, Volunteer Time Off (VTO) for employees to contribute to their favorite charitable causes, a wellness-oriented culture overseen by the Thrive steering committee, a casual dress code and more.
