Lynn Owen received the honor from the Human Resource Association of the Midlands in recognition of her passion for helping others.
OMAHA, Neb. – March 4, 2019 – One of CQuence Health Group’s team members has been recognized for her commitment to a volunteer organization dedicated to assisting human resource professionals throughout the Omaha area.
The Human Resource Association of the Midlands (HRAM) bestowed its annual Volunteer of the Year Award on Lynn Owen, HR Business Partner at CQuence Health Group. The award recognizes those who have made “an outstanding contribution” to HRAM and comes with an engraved plaque to commemorate the occasion.
As co-chair of HRAM’s Government Affairs Committee, Lynn is responsible for keeping tabs on legislation at the federal and state levels that could have a significant impact on the world of Human Resources within Nebraska and Iowa. She provides education on these trends to HRAM’s members and coordinates experts who can lend their extensive knowledge to speak to lawmakers about the effect of legislation within the Midwest labor market.
“I’m honored to be chosen by HRAM for the Volunteer of the Year award,” said Lynn. “Many people may not realize the crucial role that labor-focused legislation has within their lives. I’m proud to be able to stay up to date with what’s happening within our government and help provide educational programming for my HR colleagues and the organizations they support.”
In her role at CQuence Health Group, Lynn focuses on talent management initiatives, including recruitment and retention, training and development and performance management best practices, along with providing expertise and support to project initiatives.
Lynn gives back to the community in other ways as well. She is an integral part of not just the HR team, but the CQuence Cares committee, which is responsible for charitable efforts throughout the area. As Co-Chair of this committee, Lynn spearheads a variety of initiatives aimed at improving community wellbeing. These include marathons, food and toy drives, blood drives, and other types of support for groups such as the Salvation Army, Together Inc., the American Heart Association, the Ronald McDonald House, the Open Door Mission, World Vision, Habitat for Humanity and more.
“There is no one more deserving of this award,” said Bruce Stec, vice president of Human Resources at CQuence Health Group. “Lynn is an exceptional team member within CQuence Health Group, and I know how committed she is to the HR profession. She’s the first person you can go to with a question about employee-related initiatives. And if she doesn’t have the answer, which she almost always does, she does everything she can to find the information and ensure our organization is compliant and prepared for what’s coming.”
Congratulations to Lynn for her incredible accomplishment.
