Charity Challenge Combines Fitness and Giving at CQ

employee boxing classTwo things define the culture at CQuence Health Group: charity and wellbeing.

All throughout the year, we offer perks, contests and incentives based around these concepts, but our favorite activities combine both charity and wellbeing into a single, exciting endeavor for our team members.

5Ks definitely hit the spot, as do our annual fundraising efforts for Girls Inc. and the American Heart Association, two organizations that recognize the importance of wellness within the community. To help these causes, our employees donate sports balls to help children get active and stay active from an early age.

To close out this year, we began offering one more activity designed to get our team members up and moving while simultaneously aiding a good cause during the holiday season. The Thrive Charity Challenge asks participating team members and their families to log all their activity minutes. Every single hour that they’re active, CQuence Health Group is donating $5 to Together Inc., up to $5,000!

Together Inc. seeks to put an end to homelessness in Omaha and the surrounding area. In addition to providing food, toiletries and child care essentials to those in need during times of crisis, they have a variety of programs that offer short-term financial assistance, arrange for healthcare, set up transportation services and more.

CQ team members participated in the challenge in a number of different ways. Because the activity didn’t just rely on logging steps, it was up to every individual to decide what they wanted to do to support their own personal health and the exceptional work being done by Together Inc.

Employees from across the country responded in kind by biking, jogging, walking their dogs, engaging in indoor and outdoor family activities, playing sports, lifting weights and more.

The Thrive Charity Challenge is the finale of a month filled with wellness-oriented activities and charitable giving. Team members kicked off the Christmas season supporting the Salvation Army and donating their time to ring bells outside of a local grocery store and donating gifts as part of the Angel Tree program. And wellness was brought to the forefront by our annual Stress Less Week, which offered massages, food and gift-wrapping services to relieve any holiday anxiety among our people.

CQuence Health Group will continue to support both charitable efforts and overall wellbeing in the coming year. Happy New Year from all of us at CQ!
