2019 Golden Can WinnersThe Des Moines-area group of Field Service Engineers is the recipient of CQuence Health Group’s annual Golden Can award, given every year to the branch of the company that collects the most donations and canned food items for charity.

OMAHA, Neb. – March 13, 2019 – The annual Golden Can contest held by CQuence Health Group has come to a close. Nearly 200 employees across the country came together to raise money and canned goods, donating more than $1,300—the equivalent of 4,200 food items—to local food banks.

Cassling’s Des Moines-area Field Service Team earned the top spot, having pooled $260 (in donations and canned items) between just eight people in the lead-up to CQuence Health Group’s yearly State of the Union employee event.

In an effort to increase participation, this year’s participating teams were judged based on their per-person increase over last year. Thanks to the Central Iowa team’s stellar contributions, they just barely beat out Ensocare and the Omaha Cassling headquarters.

“The Golden Can contest is a great opportunity for employees at every level of the company to do something special for their communities,” said Mike Cassling, chairman and CEO of CQuence Health Group. “I’m always impressed each year by the enthusiasm our team members bring to charitable causes like this. The opportunity to have the proceeds benefit a food bank of their choosing within their area provides great incentive, and I want to congratulate the Des Moines-area field service engineers for their hard work and charitable spirit.”

The Des Moines team chose the Food Bank of Iowa as the beneficiary of their proceeds. According to the Food Bank of Iowa website, its mission “is to provide food for Iowa children, families and seniors to lead full and active lives, strengthening the communities where they live.” Other organizations that received monetary and food donations include Food Bank for the Heartland, Feeding South Dakota, River Bend Foodbank, Kansas Food Bank, Food Bank of Lincoln and the Grand Island Salvation Army Food Pantry.

The Golden Can contest and other fundraising events at CQuence Health Group are made possible thanks to the efforts of the CQ Cares Committee. Here’s a snapshot of what they were up to in 2018:
