35th Anniversary Provides Opportunity to Celebrate, Thrive

Employee wellbeing has long been a focus for our family of companies. So when Cassling, one of the leading companies under the CQ umbrella, celebrated its 35th anniversary, how do you think we celebrated? With a 35-themed wellness incentive, of course!

The festivities to commemorate the 35th anniversary kicked off on July 10 with a barbecue attended by current and retired Cassling employees, as well as colleagues and friends from parent company CQuence Health Group and partner company Ensocare.

Mike and Kyle 35 Year PartyIn addition to live music and yard games, attendees enjoyed a barbecue feast prepared in part by President and CEO, Michael Cassling. A little known fact about Mike is – when he isn’t busy conducting business deals or giving back to the community through his many philanthropic endeavors – he can often be found behind the grill perfecting the art of the barbecue.

The 35th anniversary event also provided the opportunity for CQuence Health’s Thrive Wellbeing Committee to offer a very special quarterly incentive for all employees. Quarterly challenges are regularly issued by this group to help keep employees focused on their personal wellness and the part it plays in being a healthy and happy employee.

That’s how the Cassling Anniversary Challenge was born. Participants were challenged to complete 35 activities out of a list of almost 50 possible tasks, all centered around some aspect of wellbeing.

Some activities proved more popular than others. Almost every single person who participated gave up soda for at least a day, while many others chose to visit state parks or take a workout class (it probably helps that CQuence Health Group headquarters offers classes over the lunch hour almost every single day!). Dozens of people walked a mile or took time to do 35 sit-ups, push-ups or jumping jacks (or a 35-second plank). The most popular non-physical activity involved cleaning out a drawer or a closet (although that could also get pretty strenuous depending on the size of the closet and the sheer amount of stuff inside).

In total, 50 people returned their 35th Anniversary Challenge sheets. And they had incentive to do so, beyond just the inherent value of wellness: everyone who returned their completed checklist was entered into a drawing for two roundtrip tickets anywhere in the United States or Mexico! The grand prize went to Rakesh Jemene, Software Engineer at Ensocare.

Thanks to everyone who participated in the Thrive 35th Anniversary Challenge and to CQuence, Cassling and Ensocare leadership for providing the opportunity for its family of companies to celebrate together. Here’s to another 35 years!
